The Saskatchewan Association of School Councils
(SASC) is pleased to announce the SASC annual

Principal Appreciation Award

This award provides affiliated School Councils / Home and school Associations /
Parent Groups the opportunity to formally recognize the outstanding achievements
of principals of Saskatchewan schools. There is no doubt that the principal of a
school is a key player in creating a safe and positive learning environment for our
children. Critical to a safe and positive learning environment is the forging and
maintenance of strong ties to the community; a principal must establish and
maintain good relations with all parents and encourage parent partnerships within
the school.

The Award will be presented at our Annual Meeting & Parent Conference. The
nominating School Council/Home and School Association or Parent Group will
receive a free one-year membership with SASC.

SASC will accept nominations for the Principal Appreciation Award from our
affiliates based on the following criteria:

1. Relates well to children, teachers and parents, enlisting their cooperations.

2. Demonstrates a willingness and ease in working with parents and the
community.

3. Functions as a team member with parents, community and human service
agencies in policy development and delivery of human services to children and
youth within their schools.

4. Promotes an inclusive, safe and positive learning environment for students.

5. Promotes a parent-friendly environment within the school and encourages
parent partnerships with respect to their childrens' education.
